Andrew Jackson

Andrew Jackson was the 7th president of the United States.  He's on the twenty dollar bill.  He even has the time period 1828-1836 named after him. So what makes this man Andrew Jackson such a landmark in American history?

Is is because of his occupation as one of the most honorable, successful generals in history

Is it because of his constant devotion to the will of the common man

Is it because of his perservence and ability to overcome obstacles?

Or is it a combination of these elements that makes Andrew Jackson such a figurehead of American democracy?

Andrew Jackson is a true American hero.  Jackson devoted his whole life to America.  He fought to keep the union together.  He fought so that ordinary people could be represented. He fought in the face of struggle, when everyone told him he was wrong.

He fought so that today me and you could have a voice in the government.
